Printing to PDF files

There are many document formats available. One of the most popular formats is Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF).

In TNA 4 you can generate, and view, reports into a PDF file. This document describes the requirements to do this.

While it is possible for TNA 4 to create the PDF files without any assistance, the Adobe Acrobat reader (version 4 or later) is required in order to view the PDF files.

Setting a Report to print to PDF

When you print a report you get the normal window with all the report options.

One of these options is the Format setting, and one of the options there is PDF. Simply click on the PDF radio button to generate PDF output.

Setting a Report to default to PDF

By default most reports default to print in a Text format suitable for printing on high-speed printers. However if you'd prefer a report to go in PDF format (this is especially good for reports you intend to email) then you can set it to Default in PDF mode.

Go to the User module, to the File menu, and then to the Print Report option. From the list select the report you want to change, and click on the Change button (instead of the normal Print button.)

You can change a number of items (see Changing Report Defaults for a complete explanation) but the one we're interested in is the output format. Change to the Format Tab. It looks something like this;

Then simply click on the PDF option and click on the Ok button to save the new default.
