- Daily shift rostering is a tool used to change an employee's
daily shift for a specific date.
-
ABC Hotel is catering for a wedding reception on a Saturday
afternoon. Due to the number of people attending the reception,
the standard Saturday kitchen staff will not be sufficient.
Additional staff may be rostered to work the Saturday shift.
-
When using the Variable Shifts
feature then the system chooses the shift which best match
the time actually worked. If you have 2 shifts very close
together then sometimes you want to manually override the
shift chosen. You can do this using Daily Rostering.
- Daily Rostering can also be used to see historically what
did happen. So the Daily Rostering calendars can be used to
show what shift an employee did actually work.
-
All the daily shifts within the employee's payroll shift
are available for that employee.
- Optionally you can limit this list.
When a daily shift is rostered, the employee's daily shift for
that particular day is overridden. The employee's clockings are
then processed according to the rostered daily shift. All other
days are processed as normal.
Daily rostering only effects processing on the day of the rostered
daily shift.
In many cases you may think you need Daily Rostering. This is
because many other Time and Attendance systems force this on you
if employees can work variable shifts.
However since TNA 4 includes the ability to automatically
detect when an employee worked, manual rostering of employees
may become redundant.
