Access Control - Access Rights

Access Rights allow you to define which employees can clock at which clocks. It also enables some advanced behaviour which happens when the employee clocks.

Configuration

Configuration is done in the Configuration module. General Access Rights are created as a Set. Each Set contains a list of all the clocks, and a set of rights for each of the clocks. These sets are then assigned to the employees. The Access Rights options include:

        Access Rights Set Options

  • In?
If this is set to Yes then employees, who are assigned to this set, can clock In at this clock.
  • Out?
If this is set to Yes then employees, who are assigned to this set, can clock Out at this clock.
  • Door?
If this is Yes the electronic door lock will be triggered when the employee clocks In or Out. Most of the time this option will be set to Yes for all the clocks.

        Advanced Access Rights Option

  • Lock?
This option is allocated to an employee or selected employees that when the employee uses a specific clock to clock Out, the clock will lock and then again unlock when they clock In.

Assigning a Access Rights to an Employee

This is done in the User module.

  1. Go to the list of employees by selecting View Employee Information button or by selecting Employees from the Query or Edit menu. Select the employee and click on the Change button.

  2. Select the Access settings option and select the Access right set for the employee to one of the sets you've created.

  3. If the Lock option is to be assigned to the employee, use the Access settings option Advanced button.

Other Tips
  • At any time you can return to the Configuration module and add new sets, or edit the sets that exist.
  • When editing a set you can use the Employees in this Set setting option to see which employees have been assigned to this set.
