You will need:
- A Flat screw-driver
- A 5.5mm socket and driver
- A small flat-head screw-driver

| 1. Turn the power to the CapeClock off. |
| 2. Remove the CapeClock from the wall (if you have already
mounted it) by loosening the two mounting screws at the bottom
of the clock sufficiently to remove the clock off the bracket
that is mounted on the wall. Take care, because when the clock
is pulled from the screws holding it to the wall-mounted bracket,
it will have nothing holding it up. To remove it from the
wall-mounted bracket completely, gently lower it, taking care
that any wires that are already connected are not strained |
| 3. Place the CapeClock face-down on a protective cloth
so that the readers and front are not scratched. |
| 4. Turn the power back on and gently adjust the potentiometer
for the LCD contrast observing the change as you do this.
You can use a small flat-head screw-driver to adjust the potentiometer. |
| 5. The reader must have a single Wegen output,
with 2 power wires. Other wires may be clipped and insulated
to prevent short circuits. The 3 wires should be crimped and
housed into a 4 or 5 way Molex connector on pins 1,2 &
4 as in the diagram to the right. The Red wire represents
the Positive supply, Black represents Ground and the Blue,
the Wegen data output.

| 6. Replace the CapeClock back onto its
wall bracket, ensuring that the tongue of the back-plate is
inserted into the corresponding groove in the wall-mounted
bracket. Secure the CapeClock onto the wall-mounted bracket
(see Figure 3) with the 2 Mounting screws at the bottom of
the CapeClock, ensuring that the cable cover plate (see Figure
4) is correctly positioned.
