In some sites it is necessary to use modems to connect the remote
clocks to the computer system. This document describes the cables
that are required to connect the clock to a modem.

Choosing
which end should do the dialling
There are 2 cables involved.
One joins the PC to the Modem. This cable is a standard cable,
usually supplied with the modem.
The other cable connects the modem to the CapeClock. The cable
consists of a RJ12 connector on the clock end and either a DB25
(male) or a DB9 (male) connector on the modem end. Only 3 wires
are necessary for the connection. Use one of the wiring diagrams
below to make this cable.
Note that the tag on the RJ12 connector is uppermost in the above
diagrams.
Also, carefully note the numbering of the pins on the DB
connectors. The view in the above diagrams is from the solder-side
of the connector.
